SPM – The Foundation

Software Product Management (SPM) is a strategic role in digital product, service and platform business. Software Product Management excellence is recognized as a key success factor for modern digital service, product, platform and software organizations – both in industries delivering software as a product, software as a service (SaaS), digital platforms, digital systems or software embedded in other products.

TIVIA ry (The Finnish Information Processing Association) will be organizing training for Software Product Managers in Finland based on the ‘SPM – The Foundation’ syllabus developed by the International Software Product Management Association (ISPMA®), an international group of software product management experts

The training provides a full review of the discipline of product management for software products including the management of software parts of software-intensive products, i.e. systems and services.

The training addresses the needs of people involved in software product management, including those that the product manager interfaces with, e.g. executive management, marketing and sales, research and development, operations, service and support.

Target audience

This training is aimed at software product managers with up to five years of practical experience in their field. Participants ought to have a fundamental understanding of the software business, but the course requires no specific technical or commercial competencies.

Instructor

Hans-Bernd Kittlaus is an internationally renowned expert on SPM. He has been working as a trainer and a consultant for software organizations such as Samsung, SimCorp, big and small software and internet organizations and corporate IT organizations in a number of different industries. Before this, he was head of SPM and development units of IBM. He is the chairman of ISPMA, and has published numerous articles and books, the latest being "Software Product Management: The ISPMA-Compliant Study Guide and Handbook, 2nd Edition" (Springer, 2022).

You may cancel your registration up to 30 days before the training, after that the cancellation fee is 50 % of the participation fee.
